I have never rented with this company but i don't believe its the worst since CLARK real estate sucks for communication and never sending out emails as they sat and only answering phones like their personal home ( when they feel like it) this company reno property management always answers my phone calls questions and detailed information on application i cant give 5 star due to me never expressing my rental experience so it would be a blind extra two stars without knowing good stuff

Just awful in literally every respect. They ordered repairs on my rental property and didn't even inform me because the amount was "below the threshold to contact the owner" and charged me for things that were the tenants' responsibility to maintain. It's now going to take me months to clean up the mess they've left from their "management". Everyone in that office is either rude or uncommunicative, but Mark LaBarber is the worst by far, and if Doug had any business sense, he would have fired him a long time ago.

If I could give 0 starts, I would. Terrible management and no communication amongst anyone in the office. Casey was one the worst staff members to speak with because he told me conflicting information every single time I spoke to him. Mark LaBarber was so rude. He has poor communication skills and is never in the office to talk. I would call hoping to address issues with my roommates and he would get back to me days later. Take your money elsewhere. These people will nickel and dime you for literally anything.

If you ever have to deal with Mark LaBarber I feel sorry for you. I lived at one of Reno Property Management's prime rentals at the Montage (Unit 611) for two years. For such an expensive ($1700 a month for a 1 bed room) & exclusive location you would expect excellent service from your property manager; unfortunately that wasn't the case. In my 2 years there almost every appliance broke and had to replaced, everything they installed you could tell was used with lots of wear & tear.
The worst part was how long it would take for anything to get repaired or replaced; weeks to months (no exaggeration). I can still remember going almost all of last summer without AC. With all the nonsense Mark put me through the last 2 years when I decided to finally leave 2 months ago, I never expected to be writing this review or having anything negative to say about him or Reno Property Management; not in my character.
What has pushed me to this point though, was my closing letter with the expectation of my deposit to be refunded. I understand cleaning, paint, etc deductions from your deposit. What I don't agree with is being charged for repairs on damages that were clearly called out during our walk through inspection and for FOB's and keys that I clearly turned in (I have the receipt). This company might not be that bad as a hole, but Mark LaBarber is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever met in any field.

Absolutely most unprofessional property management place in Reno. Our property manager did not even answer our calls, as he did not want to "deal with us". Please go anywhere else, there's a reason these reviews are so low. I actually came back to write this review, as the impression was so horrible that I could not bring myself to ignore it. Mark should've just literally done his job. AVOID

LISTEN, Now that I have your attention I want to inform you how awful the management here works and operates. I unfortunately had to rent from RPM for a year, in which Mark LaBarber was my realtor. Besides being unprofessional (not returning calls & emails unless convenient, getting aggressive when questioned, and the the loads of excuses), the overall character of this management company was piss poor at best.
Once you make it past Cynthia or whomever the other receptionist is, you'll be meet with the fake smiles and individuals that see $$. The property I lived at wasn't well kept and older (we dealt with it), and upon the 1st week moving in we learned that both the washer and dryer weren't fully functioning (No cold water, dryer not heating as should).
We made documentation of this with other issues we saw (carpets, blinds, etc.) and let Mark know. Besides having us PAY for HIS guy to come out and inspect the washer and dryer (Which the guy found NOTHING wrong), Mark did nothing to accommodate or address the other issues. A month prior our move out date we were contacted by RPM asking if we were renewing.
With no discussion needed my roommate informed them that we had no intention of renewing our lease, and said she would inform Mark. No follow occurred (phone call or email), and once move out time came, we were told due to not giving formal notice we had to pay for an additional month of rent. We disputed this with Mark and his Supervisor but the only response we received was to look at the HOA (Yeah you let us know over phone, but we need an email or letter).
We were told something could possibly be done about this, but after further investigation no fault was on them because. I wanted to dispute this but was told by Mark "I DON'T HAVE TO MEET WITH YOU". I attempted to do the move out inspection with Mark but was notified he doesn't do move inspections with clients (Take that in). Here I am today a whole month later getting $842.19 of my $2,200.00 deposit, with what was listed in the move in inspection as reason why they docked money.
But at least its over for me and you have the opportunity to never be involved with this company. Take your time and do your research, and DO NOT entertain the idea of working with these individuals. I don't want anyone working in this great community to have such negative renter experiences.

Lets start off by saying if you turn your keys in early make sure you get per diem for the days that you weren't in possession of the house. Normally I wouldn't write a review because I know that it can be difficult working for a property company however considering I had to pay double the deposit for not have any credit and they only gave me back $318 of the $1500 I put down I think that I will let everyone know about my experience.
I was told the carpet was brand new and that they painted. Well the walls still has a little child's writing all over it (I'm a single 21yr old with no children) and the carpet had paints stains. The bathroom had holes in the walls that were covered with tape and painted over it. During my first month the dishwasher stopped working and they sent someone to fix it.
While trying to fix it they found out that the house was wired incorrectly and there was double power going to one outlet. That same outlet electrocuted my boyfriend. That problem has not been fixed yet. I was told to just leave on circuit alone. After three months of living at 5041 Catalina Drive the washer broke. It took them four months to replace it.
I would call and get a run around on when I would have the washer. When I finally did get an answer I was told I had to wait until I paid rent for them to buy one. When I went to return my keys my last day was on a Saturday so I left the keys on the counter and sent them an email. Three days later I received a call from Krystal saying that they are going to charge me per diem for each day they didn't have the keys as well as a locksmith.
After going down to her office and having a 20 minute heated discussion about how she has extra keys and there policies on the 24 hours noticed checks with her telling me that she didn't have any keys for that apartment. She asked me if I wanted to take the keys that she had to open the door. Needles to say I was not happy.

I have been a long distance property owner for 25 years and Tom Wood and Reno Property Management is by far the WORST property management firm I have ever dealt with. One staff member Mike never notified me of eviction and possible litigation regarding a tenant not to mention the loss of rent. They do nothing short of listing your property on Craig's list to get it rented and will not call you if there is no activity.
I was with them for over 10 years and the quality got so bad I had to leave (not to mention the lost revenue in rent from vacant houses) They treat me, the home owner as if I am bothering them when I call. Do your self a favor and get anyone else to manage your property.

This would have been very good review, however when I moved out of the unit my deposit was late. When I called Reno Property Management, Mike Pickerel was rude and defensive. Actually a complete dick to be frank. I now have my refund in my hand. Going over the the "repairs" I found there were repairs done that were already in need of repair when i moved in.
I know this because i submitted photos upon moving in. The unit was not clean, old and poorly maintained. I took photos thinking this would save me hundreds when i moved out. I still lived there for 16 months with rent paid on time and no complaints from neighbors or anyone else. So when i opened my late refund I was appalled to find these repair fees. I will be taking them to claims court. I do not recommend renting from them. If you do request these repairs be made in advance and request before and after pictures.
