Data deteriorates at an alarming rate. Your database will almost certainly contain duplicates, people who have died or moved house and incorrect or incomplete addresses. Fortunately it's cheaper to identify and deal with those records than it is to send them even a second class letter. The first step to reduce mailing costs and improve response rates is to find out how many bad records you have and that part -The Data Audit- we do for free. This will identify how many deceased, gone-aways, duplicates and incomplete or substandard addresses you have.
Our preferred source of consumer data is Experian's flagship database, ConsumerView. This provides the most comprehensive, accurate and consistent view of the UK's adult population. The ConsumerView database contains over 49 million records, updated on a monthly basis. It includes the predominant indicators of consumer behaviour, such as gender, age, marital status, household composition, and income for each adult and household in the UK.
A quick search of the internet for business to business data will reveal an almost endless supply of lists. When choosing a supplier the main considerations should be whether their data is clean, up to date and legal. BRG don't hold business lists in house, but we regularly source data from Experian's UK business database which contains records of over one million UK business locations.
